Ram Study

Some drawings I created of Rams for the next project I will be doing. It's an expansion and change to the previous project I did last year, Rascalé. I'm going to be changing the style and focusing on the other taxidermic animals within the house.

Stuttgart Opera House

A quick sketch I did a few weeks ago in Stuttgart of the Opera house.

Timmy the T-Rex Turnaround

This is my turnaround of Timmy the T-Rex. I'm still undecided on the spines. The top is my favourite but any advice on which one is better would be appreciated! The top turnarounds spines are more square, the second one has curvy spines, and the third has more 3D spines. I hope you love him as much as I do!

Timmy quick expressions

I haven't posted in a while so here's a quick update with some sketches I created on the train home from uni today of my character Timmy. I was recently at FMX which was awesome and I've been majorly busy since but I'll defiantly get back to posting more now!

Fallen Angel

I created this picture of a fallen angel. After doing something she thought was right she ended up being cast out and now her heart is freezing over. Her sadness engulfing her. I enjoyed creating this image it really helped me practice my portraiture techniques which I don't often get the chance to do. I think I could have emphasised the narrative a bit more and made the composition more compelling, with everything directing you towards the eyes.

Desert

This is a futuristic desert concept art piece I created. I couldn't get the lighting right and I was really frustrated in the end so I pronounced it done and moved on. I've never painted a desert before and I underestimated how hard it would be to get the harsh lighting right, especially while trying to convey an idea of it being on another planet. I came up with the idea of a family searching for somewhere to rest across the harsh desert but instead they find a factory esq building and have no choice but to go there to seek refuge.

Fishes!

I wanted to practice my repetition so I came up with this composition. I'm really happy with the results although it didn't look like it was going to come together until the very end when I added the lens blurs. I think next time I need to consider the composition a bit more as I feel it lacks rhythm although it has direction, and I wish the monster fish was scarier with a bigger mouth and more teeth.
